Spiced Turkey Burgers Recipe

Takes 20 minutes, serves 4
Curry spices and fresh coriander turn these low-fat turkey burgers into something tasty and special.
Ingredients
  • Ground turkey- 500 grams
  • Red onion- 3 tbsp grated onion
  • Garlic clove- 1, crushed
  • Fresh mint- 2 tbsp
  • Curry powder- 2 tsp
  • Coriander- 1 handful, chopped
  • Egg- 1 whole
  • Coconut oil or butter- 1 tbsp
  • Whole wheat burger buns- 4 buns
  • Fresh lettuce, avocado, tomato, pickles, Dijon mustard to serve.
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the turkey, onion, garlic, curry powder, coriander and egg yolk with a little salt and pepper. Combine well with your hands then shape into 4 flat burger patties.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan over high heat then cook the burgers for 5 minutes each or until cooked through. Slice the burger buns in half and toast the cut sides in a pan. Place the salad (lettuce, tomato, green pepper, cabbage, cucumber, sprouts etc.) on the bottom halves of the warm buns then top with the burgers.
